Business risk assessment

Describe your situation and get the exposures named, ranked and paired with proportionate mitigations.

Where should we send you?

The answer appears on this page straight away. We ask for an address because a language model costs money to run and a free, anonymous one is a bill anybody on the internet can run up.

This tool is not available right now.

Fill in the fields above and the result appears here — nothing is sent anywhere.

How it works

No formula, and deliberately no numeric score.

There is no risk score here, and that is the design. A number derived from a paragraph of prose is false precision: it looks like a measurement, it invites comparison, and it is neither. What you get instead is the exposures your description actually evidences, ranked by how much damage they could do and how soon, with mitigations proportionate to each — and a closing section on what this reading cannot cover, because a risk assessment that does not state its own blind spots is the most dangerous kind.

This tool sends what you write to a language model to produce the answer. Your text is not stored by us and is not written to any database; an uploaded file is read in your browser and only per-column totals are sent. Your email address is stored, with the consents you tick.

Frequently asked questions

Why is there no risk score?
Because it would be made up. A score implies a measurement scale, a model behind it, and comparability with other scores — none of which exist when the input is a few sentences of description. Naming and ranking the exposures is honest; scoring them is not.
Can I use this for a compliance requirement?
No. If a regulator, an insurer or an auditor requires a risk assessment, they require one performed by someone accountable for it. This is a thinking aid.
Is the uploaded file sent anywhere?
The file is parsed in your browser and only per-column totals are sent, the same as the other upload tools here.
